Here in the UK, ales are having somewhat of a revival. They have always been popular but used to be seen as more of an 'old man's' drink whereas now they are being drank far and wide all sorts of people. I think that what I like most about British ales is the ridiculous names, we're talking Sheepshaggers, Fursty Ferret, Pickled Partridge and more.
These ales are often made by the microbreweries that are popping up all over the country. One of the best repercussions is that the owners often have their fingers on the pulse and don't underestimate the importance of packaging. Here are a few examples of some very cool bottles of beer, some real and some projects. It's worth noting that these are by far not all from the UK, it seems as though microbreweries are taking off all over the world.
