Product Design: Make Your Mark Pen by Ajoto

You know when a project gets over triple it's goal on Kickstarter that it's going to be a winner. In this case, it's a fantastic pen designed by London design studio Ajoto.

There is not much to say about this pen, it is absolutely perfect in it's simplicity.
"We wanted to do justice to the most important tool we use everyday. That's why we created a pen that not only has a great story but marks the beginning of a journey which will last a lifetime."
I love it, I mean I seriously love it. Take a look at more of their work over here or head over to Kickstarter and snap up the last of the pledges here.

Product Spotlight: The Secret Keeper by Alongkorn Sanguansook

I love this cute wooden character called the Secret Keeper, part of the 'Cubic Warrior' series, by Chinese designer Alongkorn Sanguansook

Product Spotlight: Hipdesk by Camille Prigent

Hipdesk is a beautifully designed workspace by Camille Prigent that combines great craftsmanship with something even cooler - hidden drawers.
"Placed on two trestles, the desktop contains invisible drawers, hidden sleekly in the edge of your desk. Hipdesk opens and closes with a cascade mechanism, so that only you know the secret. Hosting your personal «Cloud», Hipdesk secures your most sensitive belongings."
I love it. Check out more of Camille's work over here.

Product Design: Warmth by The Federal

Canadian design company The Federal worked on this great design for a super simplistic and uber cool pair of ear muffs. Cool ear-muffs, you say? Yep - cool ear muffs.
"The combination of Canadian Birch, fresh Sheep's Wool from British Columbia and a waxed cotton string makes for a warming yet rugged addition to anyone's wardrobe."
You can see more work by The Federal over here.

Product Design: Project Linewand by Javier Jabalera

I absolutely love this conceptual project by Spanish designer Javier Jabalera.

Linewand is a set of digital drawing implements. The idea in itself isn't revolutionary - in fact it's very similar to the 'recent' Wacom Inkling, with which you draw with a real pen and it converts automatically it into digital through a little captor. However, unlike the Wacom model, these pieces are beautifully designed and wonderfully presented.

Check out more work by Javier over here.

Product Design: Reflections Toothbrush Set

Sometimes the best kind of design is the simplest. That is why I love these toothbrushes by Izola, made from sustainable bamboo and nylon bristles. They come in four different box sets, each containing a years supply of toothbrushes. My favourite is by far the 'Months' set.
"Our “Months” set serves as a reminder of when it’s time to switch to a fresh brush. Our popular “Guest” set is an essential for any guest bathroom and takes care of your overnight visitors when they are in need. Our “Numerals” set helps differentiate whose brush is whose in busy bathrooms, and our Reflections set references positive practices to start your day with a clean mouth and a clear mind."
You can pick up your own set over here.

Graphic Design: Carrier Bird by Martina Friedli

When I was a kid my friends and I used to give each other Christmas cards every year. Now that I'm 'all grown up', Christmas cards just seem to get lost under a pile of pre-Crimbo tasks and this year was no exception.

Maybe if I had seen these cards sooner, I might just have been convinced to actually get of my backside and send some out. Ah well, there's always next year.

These cards are by Swiss designer Martina Friedli, take a look at more of her work here.
